Lion of Judah Collection
“Beloved, do not be amazed and bewildered at the fiery trial which is taking place to test your quality,
as though something strange were befalling you. But, insofar as you are sharing Christ's sufferings, rejoice,
so that when His glory [full of radiance and splendor] is revealed, you may also rejoice with triumph.”
There is a long story about the life of this image which I can't tell right now. I will share that after completing this painting, I was going through a very painful experience of letting go of our firstborn son. Not knowing if I would ever see him again, I became broken and empty. The Lord spoke this to me:
“Beloved, look into My eyes, and you will see fire. It is the reflection of your firey trial. For My gaze is upon you. I am jealous for your love, do not turn your eyes away from my gaze. I love you. You are Mine, and I am yours ~ forever. Your Lover and Protector”
Months later I was able to visit Andrew on Mother’s Day 2012
in the Colorado prison. I told him about the artwork (that he had not seen) and the word from God. He was deeply touched, and he wrote this poem and sent it to me:
by Andrew Woods
From the past ~ come rushing
visions beheld by some
powerful, ~ the lion
bright as the evening sun
the stubborn, distracted one
newly found faith
assures his battle will be won
humble in his stance
but never fearing defeat
he now fights for a higher cause
trampling foes beneath his feet.
Andrew Marcus has a high calling from God on his life. He has struggled with drug addiction, and has been caught in a repetitive cycle that has landed him in prison over and over. He is thirty three now. If you are touched by this please consider praying for him. I have a beautiful bookmark available that tells this story. It is a wonderful tool to give to those who are suffering, it is a good tool to give people in prison as well. You can go to my bookmark section to order.
Shalom ~ Andrew's Mom, Constance
